Hurry is all I do lately!.....

No time to talk...just get the uploading done and be on my way. It is late and still have many more things to do before the day is done!

You really need to go over to DPH and see their new Christmas Collab. It is an awesome kit. It uses modern retro colors and is just FUN! Here is two LO's I have done. They don't do the kit justice though because there are so many elements and papers to work with. The kit is shown below with my LO's beneath.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

December half over and 2009 mostly gone!

Ok, so December is half over today! My goodness how the time speeds by. It seems like this month has been extra busy but the wedding is over I am not sure what is taking all my time--except of course recovery! :) Today is my husbands and my anniversary. We have been married 32 years! WOW! We went to see the movie Blind Side and I loved it. It is totally one of those movies that I will encourage everyone to see. This is one that we should support so we can get more good ones like this.

Ya, so here are some pages I have done this last week. The first LO's are from ESS. I used Trish's new kit, The Night Before Christmas. It has been so fun and I haven't even gotten to use all the elements yet. The second LO is also from Trish's kit The Night Before Christmas and I also used Rybyn's brand new Memories Squared Template. I love this template. I really like how this LO turned out.

The next bunch of LO's are from a kit at DPH done by Creative Chaos. The kit is called Happy Flowers. I loved the colors--purples, greens, blues and yellows. What a delightful kit. You will see the kit which you can purchase here and then you will see the LO's I used with the kit. The little girl is my granddaughter. Isn't she such a cutie! The first LO are pictures from our daughter's wedding last month. The girls all wore black polka-dot skirts and then purple, orange, and fushia tops. Our granddaughter's colors were purple like her Mom's. I thought the dress turned out darling. My sister made it. Our GD kept touching the lace and the ruffles. She knew she was the Princess to be watched!

December

December! My goodness it seems so surreal that the year 2009 is coming to an end! The year has been filled with lots of fun and yet challenges too. I guess that is with anything though, you experience the ups and downs of life. December has come with snow--much needed but yet not near enough yet. The weather has turned cold and today the wind is biting deep! I don't like the cold but have always said that I like the cold better than the heat because you can always add more clothes and blankets, etc to keep warm but you can only take off so much to keep cool when it is hot! I LOVE the seasons though and it is time for another season to come upon us and I am ever grateful for the different seasons that we enjoy here. If we had all snow or all heat it would get pretty dull I think.

Today I am showing you a fun kit and template combo for the year 2010. I made my January Calendar using the calendar template and a January page for the calendar using the templates and the January mini kit. I also made another LO using the January mini kit. This is a huge collab made by Robyn Pali at RPD and Rachel at M4PD, designers at ESS. Fun templates and mini kits for each month. Maybe this year is the one you will make personalized calendars for others or for yourself. This kit will help you.

Survivor

Ya, I consider myself a survivor of last week--and what a week it was! Monday we spent setting up for the wedding, which took place on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day--a bit chilly but beautiful. This was the first wedding of one of my children that all the wedding party was on time, thus the ceremony started right on time. When the ceremony was finished and my daughter was getting ready for pictures outside the temple she made the comment, we have another 20 minutes before the photographer will be here! It was the quickest in and out of the temple that I have experienced with each of my other children's weddings. It was wonderful. The wedding luncheon had been held the previous night and so we had a nice relaxing time between the wedding ceremony and reception. It was so fun to see and visit with family from out of town and local. The reception went well. People began arriving at 6:25 and went until almost 9:00. The reception was scheduled to be from 6:30 to 8:30. The receiving line was endless and non-stop. There was no break! My daughter and her husband knew many people in their 30ish years of getting to their big day and it showed by the people who came to wish them well.

Wednesday though the bad news started--people started getting sick. A flu bug must have been at the reception because guests began "dropping like flies" as one relative put it! It started with a neice then it hit me. That yuck hits with a vengeance. The aches are horrific and I couldn't help but wonder about my Savior and how He could withstand not only what I was feeling at that time but He had ALL the World's issues too! Oh the aches hurt so badly. Then the vomiting for some. It was sooooo horrible. Others in the wedding party came down with it Thanksgiving Day and then some on Friday and Saturday. My youngest son was hit last night (Sunday) and is still downstairs throwing up. We got a call Sunday morning that our granddaughter had contracted the yuck and had been admitted to the hospital for dehydration. Between diarhea and vomiting they couldn't keep anything down her. She is still in the hospital and we are praying for her recovery. Another tiny gal, Olivia's cousin, ended up at urgent care with not only the flu but strep. She has not been admitted to the hospital but is being watched closely. You sure hate to see those tiny ones get this stuff as it is so hard on their tiny bodies.

The flu had no rhyme or reason. It got some of the weak and some of the strongest yet also missed some of the weakest and strong. It came on so quickly and played out its vengeance for anywhere from 24 hours to 48 hours and longer still for a few. We feel badly the bug was transported at our gathering and wish all those who attended a speedy recovery or for those who haven't come down with it yet, we pray they can avoid it all together!

OK. Now for the LO I made with Trish's kit In The Blues at ESS. It has many gorgeous hues of blue and I loved it. I did a LO using pictures taken from our trip to St. George, Utah a few years ago and the blues added so much to the colors in the photos. The elements are awesome and I especially liked the alpha. I don't usually use alpha cause I think it is too hard but I loved this! Check out the kit at ESS. Trish is also known as Trish H Designs.

Have a great weekend!

Just adding another LO I did with the Princess Kit by ambowifedesigns at DPH. This is such a fun kit. I had lots of fun playing with this. I loved all the elements so much that I had to make myself stop adding elements! Trish has a new kit in her store at ESS that is so much fun. The kit is "boyish" and it is an awesome kit to put together LO's for those building projects of the men and boys! Here is a look at the kit and my LO.

The next LO is made using Trish's same kit Boyish with Robyn Pali's Template. This template was in the November 1-15th Template Challenge at ESS.

We are supposed to get snow this afternoon and it is a dreary morning. The cold is getting to me already and it isn't even that cold yet!!! Well in closing just wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Actually I am just now updating this post and it is two hours later and we got snow, about an inch and it is still snowing. Earlier it looked like a blizzard-wind and snow and fog. I couldn't see to the end of my street! Yikes! I guess winter weather is here whether I like it or not! If you live in the hot states or areas of the world you are really missing out on the beauty of a first snowfall! But then I realize I am probably missing out on lots of things you have too. So I am grateful for the seasons of weather as well as the seasons of my life. OK I won't get mushy on ya. Taking RSVP's for the wedding is taking its toll on me! :) It seems there is suddenly so much to do and so little time to do it! I need to relax and soak in a nice warm bath.

It's beginning to look and feel like winter!

Yup! Not sure if I'm ready or not but it is coming whether I am or not huh? I don't like to be cold but I hate the heat worse so maybe it won't be so bad eh? I have loved the fall. I think we got a little more fall weather than we usually do and I love the fall and spring time of year--just the right temperatures.

We threw a "Tool Party" for our future son-in-law the other day. I thought it would be just his family and our family and a few friends but apparently the friends called other friends and they called others and the "guys" just kept coming in... I was glad so many came to support him but I was surprised as so many walked in. We had enough refreshments, which is more than they might have had if the guys had pulled through with plans of their own!!! I guess they just needed someone to get the ball rolling and all they had to do was show up with a gift! It was fun and our son-in-law didn't know anything about it so the element of surprise was a good one!

Well, now to scrapbooking--Ambowife Designs has a beautiful kit for all the little-and big-princesses in your life. It is appropriately called Princess. Great colors of pinks and blues and greens give a feeling of fairytales and dreams. This kit is found at DPH and a must have to scrap the pictures of all the girls you love. Below is a picture of the kit and my LO.

AAAAHHHH!
We are already a week into November and my desire to stay a bit more connected to this blog has gone out the window--obviously! LOL Wedding Plans are wrapping up I think and hopefully cause it is getting closer every day. We already got a few announcements returned! I had great fun using some of my daughters engagement photos to scrap. Trish's kit was just the thing. The colors matched beautifully to the scene my daughter chose and I loved the template to use so many photos at once. Check out below and then go to their blogs and/or store to purchase these awesome items.

What a gorgeous and exciting kit Trish has created. I used the kit Dani's Summer with a wonderful template by Robyn Pali called Picture Booth Template. You will love both of these products immensely! I really enjoyed the colors and the option for many photos in the template.

Here is my LO using Trish's great kit and the awesome template by Robyn.
